Hetty Koes Endang, a top star of Indonesia, was born in Jakarta in 1957. As a talented girl singer, she won various amateur singing contest from her younger years, and at the age of 16, she participates in Kron cong Music Festival in Java State of the western area. Kuron cong is an original popular music of Indonesia which took in the trend of Portuguese music. It traces approximately 400 years back from now in the 16th century. The first occupant of Indonesia was Portugal. However, a century later, Holland came in and drove out the Portugal, but the children were born between Portuguese and the local people were allowed to stay in a small village near Jakarta. The music born there was kron cong. Hetty also won in this music festival and made a debut as a professional singer. She sang not only kron cong but also various music of Indonesia and became the top star. She released over 130 albums until today. Recently, this kron cong has evolved in Indonesia and pop kron cong became popular among the young people. Hetty's new album, "Awakening of Love" is her satisfying among the pop kron cong. It has evoked great sensation in Indonesia.
Hetty Koes Endang married in 1991 and has been away from her public activities, however she has resumed her activities in 1994. Furthermore, her excellent albums such as "Downy Hair Rising", at her peak point, is still in our market.
